SERVICE PROCESS
Initial Meeting
The initial meeting will involve meeting with you to discuss the project and feasibility.
Not only do we design and construct new properties, but are involved in older, established heritage projects such as listed buildings and barn conversions.
We aim to ensure our attractive buildings and heritage assets can continue to be used in the modern world, either in their current use or by being converted to a suitable use for the modern world.
Feasibility
Feasibility will involve looking into what is and not possible with your project, taking into account physical and legal implications.
At the consultation or after, we will also explore your permitted development rights and advise whether to submit a Planning application or a Lawful Development Certificate.
Measured Survey
For a planning application, Lawful Development Certificate application or building regulations approval application, you will need an accurate set of architectural plans showing both the existing property and the proposed extension.
A full measured survey of the existing building and site will be conducted to establish the basis for the new project.
Design
All drawings are produced with the latest CAD technology giving you the guarantee of quality technical drawings. We will then email or post the designs to you.
Once the design is approved, a full set of detailed architectural plans will be created.
Planning Application
When the design is completed, these and all necessary forms and supporting
documents are electronically forwarded to the relevant planning authority.
Once submitted, the planning application goes through a verification process. During this period, we will liaise with the planners to ensure the process is progressing appropriately and where necessary make any changes to the planning application in consultation with you.
Building Regulations
When the planning is passed, the necessary
construction designs and specification is produced to allow submission to the appropriate Building
Control department.
This is inclusive of any structural elements for which structural calculations may be required.
Construction
RLS Group integrate all their competencies at this point to bring to life the approved designs by way of a construction solution that is economical, sustainable and ultimately an effective addition to the built environment.
